As part of our social value commitments for our ongoing work with Cardiff Council, we are proud to pledge a direct financial contribution to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. In Wales, Ronald McDonald House Cardiff is based at the University Hospital of Wales (Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales), supporting families whose children are receiving specialist hospital care.
This commitment is designed to make our support both practical and dependable, helping the charity plan ahead while ensuring our contribution is linked directly to the communities connected with our work.
To provide consistent, reliable support, Peter Ridley Waste Systems has committed to donating £450 every quarter for the next two years, totalling £3,600 in direct funding.
Why Ronald McDonald House Charities?
When a child is severely ill or injured in hospital, the last thing parents should have to worry about is finding a place to stay, travel costs, or being separated from their child.
Ronald McDonald House Cardiff provides free, home-away-from-home accommodation to families with children receiving specialised treatment at the hospital. The House offers:
- Comfortable private bedrooms just steps away from the hospital wards.
- Warm, communal spaces including kitchens, living rooms, and play areas.
- Emotional support from staff and other families facing similar challenges.
By keeping families close together, the House eases financial burdens, reduces stress, and allows parents to focus entirely on what matters most – their child’s health and recovery.
